Pottery making Activity
Pottery making is a fascinating and immersive activity that allows participants to engage with traditional craftsmanship and create their own unique terracota pieces. It's a hands-on experience that can be both therapeutic and rewarding. Come join our pottery class and try making one for yourself to bring home! Bhaktapur has long been the hub for traditional pottery in Kathmandu Valley. This is your opportunity to have a first-hand experience of participating in this ancient tradition by using traditional methods of the centuries-old craft of pottery in Bhaktapur.
What to Expect:
- Guided workshops: we offer guided pottery workshops where guests can learn from skilled local potters. These workshops can cover basic techniques and allow guests to create their own pieces.
- Pottery tours: includes a tour of Bhaktapur's pottery square, where guests can see traditional potters at work and learn about the history and significance of pottery in the region.
- Personalised keepsakes: allow guests to create personalised pottery items, such as mugs, bowls, or vases, which can be glazed and fired for them to take home as souvenirs.
- Cultural insights: local potters share anecdotes about the cultural importance of pottery and its role in Nepalese traditions.
